A number of famous Vietnamese individuals, who have influence in a variety of fields, have made their presence in a photo collection shot as part of a project to boast the nation’s pride.

The first session of the photography project “The Vietnam Pride” with the portraits of such 2018 standouts as footballers Nguyen Quang Hai, Doan Van Hau and Bui Tien Dung of the sports category, and the daredevil gymnasts Giang Brothers in the entertainment field, has been released to the public.

“The Vietnam Pride” is conducted by veteran Vietnamese model Xuan Lan as the project’s producer, creative director and image director, in collaboration with photographer Jundat.

According to Lan, she planned to invite as many as 30 Vietnamese individuals including both famous adults and child artists in different fields of sports, culture, entertainment, beauty, cinema, and social life, who have greatly contributed to increasing the national pride in international friends’ eyes, to feature in her project.

“I think if there is any time for us to be proud of Vietnam's entertainment, cultural and sporting achievements, it must be 2018,” said Lan.

“It would be regretful not to save these milestones in order to inspire the younger generations,” she added.

Lan told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper that it took her team nearly one month to complete the photography collection.

“What made me happy the most was the warm reception and quick acceptance from the artists and athletes when I told them the idea of the project,” the veteran model said.

Star footballers Nguyen Quang Hai, Doan Van Hau and Bui Tien Dung are members of Vietnam’s national football team which had awe-inspiring achievements in both regional and Asian tournaments they took part in last year, while the gymnast brothers of Giang Quoc Co and Giang Quoc Nghiep were the finalists of the Britain’s Got Talent 2018.
