Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu visited North Korea from October 21 to 26 to conduct the fifth Vietnam - North Korea deputy foreign minister-level policy exchange, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Friday.

Deputy Minister Vu and his North Korean counterpart Pak Sang Gil discussed each country’s current affairs and expressed satisfaction with recent growth in Vietnam-North Korea relations across political, diplomatic, defense, security, cultural, and sports sectors.

Vu emphasized Vietnam’s steadfast commitment to enhancing cooperation with North Korea across various sectors.

He noted that the collaboration should adhere to international law and reflect the aspirations of both nations' people, with a view to promoting peace, stability, cooperation, and development both regionally and globally.

As for political relations, both nations agreed to continue fostering delegation exchanges to build mutual trust and expand substantive cooperation.

They were also committed to coordinating efforts to prepare activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Vietnam-North Korea diplomatic ties in 2025.

Both sides will further cooperation in cultural, sports, and tourism sectors; promote exchanges between civic organizations from the two countries; and encourage expanded collaboration at various levels, including locality-to-locality collaboration to deepen the traditional friendship.
