A multifunctional replenishment oiler was officially added to the Vietnam Coast Guard fleet on Thursday, celebrating the country’s first-ever domestically built auxiliary replenishment ship.

Vietnam’s maritime police force received two TT400 high-speed patrol boats and an H222 replenishment oiler today, marking the induction of the country's first domestically built replenishment oiler into the coast guard fleet.

A ceremony marking the handover of the vessels was held in the northern coastal city of Hai Phong, where the Vietnamese shipyard premiered the multifunctional oiler model built by state-owned Hong Ha Shipyard under the Ministry of Defense.

The H222 vessel is 90 meters long, 13 meters wide, and capable of operating at sea non-stop for 45 days. 

It is specifically designed for replenishment missions that include supporting deployed coast guard ships with oil, fresh water, and food while at sea.

The entire shipbuilding process, from technology design to construction, was carried out entirely by engineers at the Hong Ha Shipyard.
