-- Vietnam’s State President Tran Dai Quang on Saturday met with former volunteer Vietnamese soldiers who assisted Cambodia in the struggle against the genocidal Pol Pot regime in the 1979-1989 period, in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the two nations’ ties.

-- An official in Buon Ma Thuot City in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Saturday that local authorities were looking into a case in which two police officers had shot at and injured three young men who were breaking traffic rules and defying their command to stop on Friday evening.
