Tuesday, January 16, 2018, 22:00 GMT+7

Seven Vietnamese women were among a group of eight women apprehended by Singaporean police last week for offenses ranging from appearing naked in public to drug-related violations, The Straits Times reported on Monday.

The arrests of the women followed a six-hour joint operation, the Singaporean news site quoted a statement the same day by local police.

According to the report, three of the eight women were arrested for appearing naked in a public place. Of these, two were also nabbed for employment and immigration-related offenses.

The other five women were taken in for drug-related offenses, according to The Straits Times.

Seven of the women are said to be Vietnamese, while the eighth is believed to be Malaysian.

The operation by Tanglin Police Division and the Central Narcotics Bureau's Enforcement E Division was conducted at public entertainment outlets in Cuppage Plaza from 11:00 pm onward on January 11.

Three public entertainment outlets were found to have breached public entertainment licensing conditions.

Investigations against the suspects are ongoing.

Police said they take “a serious view of anyone found breaking the law and will continue to work with other law enforcement agencies to eradicate criminal activities,” The Straits Times reported.
