-- Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc decided to give a warning to Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan on Wednesday as a disciplinary measure for his violations at the ministry.

-- Vietnamese police have prosecuted 92 suspects, including Phan Van Vinh, a former chief of Vietnam’s Police General Department, and Nguyen Thanh Hoa, a former head of the high-tech division under the Ministry of Public Security, on nine counts, including money laundering and bribery, for their roles in a high-profile gambling ring busted in March.

-- Boeing Co. struck a new deal for 100 passenger jets worth almost US$13 billion at list prices with Vietnam's budget airline VietJet at the Farnborough Airshow in southern England on Wednesday.

-- Dwellers in a number of apartment buildings in Vietnam have complained of the low quality of cable TV and Internet services in the high rises as they can only subscribe to one single service provider, although such a monopoly is against Vietnamese law.

-- Five hotels in the south-central tourist city of Nha Tran, namely Sun City, B&B, Dubai, Venue and Euro Star, have been suspended for their violations of fire prevention regulations.

-- A China-made medicine containing the cancer-causing carcinogen of valsartan remains on sale in multiple drugstores in Ho Chi Minh City even though authorities imposed a ban on the drug used to treat blood pressure conditions on July 13.
