Police in Ho Chi Minh City said on Wednesday they are looking for two suspects accused of using a stun baton to forcibly steal a woman’s motorbike three days ago.

The victim, T.T.T.L. was riding her motorcycle at around 4:00 am on Monday in Binh Chanh District when two other motorcyclists pulled up next to her, law enforcement said.

One of them gave the 26-year-old victim an electric shock from a stun baton, causing her to fall from her motorbike.

The attackers immediately fled with her vehicle.

Local police received the report of the theft on the same day and launched an urgent investigation.

This is not the first time Binh Chanh District has had such a violent incident.

In late December last year, residents complained of a pack of 13 motorcyclists who used knives and crash helmets to attack motorbike riders before robbing them of their possessions in the early morning.

The group has successfully carried out three other thefts, the police said.
