A U.S.-based "terrorist organization" is responsible for a blast that occurred at the tax department of Binh Duong Province in southern Vietnam last month, according to information released by the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security on Friday.

The explosion occured at the provincial tax department at 328 Binh Duong Boulevard in Thu Dau Mot City at around 9:00 am on September 30, 2019.

The blast caused a large wall to collapse and shattered the building's glass windows, but there were no human casualties.

Truong Duong, a 39-year-old man residing in Di An Town, Binh Duong, was latter arrested and named the main suspect behind the explosion.

He has been identified as a member of the so-called Provisional National Government of Vietnam, a U.S.-based group which has been labelled as a "terrorist organization" by the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security, according to a post on the ministry's portal on Friday.
