A man was shot dead and had his motorbike stolen by an unidentified suspect in Cu Chi District on the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday.
The incident occurred just a few minutes past midnight along Provincial Highway No. 15 in Phu Hoa Dong Commune in Cu Chi.
The victim was later identified as V.C.T., 40, who lived in Thu Duc District.
Preliminary information showed that the suspect had fatally shot T. before fleeing the scene with the victim’s motorcycle.
An eyewitness, who is a cab driver, said he saw the two men engaging in a quarrel before the fatal incident.
One of them was wearing a T-shirt and shorts while the other was shirtless and wearing trousers.

After hearing sounds similar to that of gunfire, the cab driver said he saw the man in T-shirt collapsed on the ground.
The eyewitness said he believed the shooter was wielding an AK assault rifle.
It was the second shooting incident in Cu Chi in less than 24 hours.
Earlier on Wednesday, four people were killed and another injured after being shot by 33-year-old Le Quoc Tuan, a senior lieutenant in the detention unit of the District 11 police bureau, at a gambling ring in Cu Chi District.
Police investigation showed Tuan had lost all his money after gambling at the ring and later engaged in a quarrel with other fellow gamblers.
The suspect left the ring, returned with a gun, and shot four gamblers to death.
Tuan then left on a scooter with his gun.
It is still unclear whether Tuan was the one who shot T. to death.
