A Vietnamese man from the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang has come under criticism for posting photos on social media of dead animals that look like a species of wildcat and boasting about killing them.
The photos were uploaded on Sunday to the Facebook account of ‘Huu Cuong Huynh,’ allegedly run by a local in Tan Thanh Ward, Cai Be District, Tien Giang.
“How big these are! Three captured in seven days. Today’s catch was the biggest at 4.5 kilograms,” the caption reads.
Many netizens expressed their anger at the photos, which appear to capture a species of wildcat, with hostile comments on the man’s deed, forcing the account owner to take down the post as of Thursday.

A senior official of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper they would cooperate with local authorities to conduct a detailed investigation and severely punish any illegal acts.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Thanh Tung, director of the Tien Giang Province Police Department, said on Wednesday afternoon the provincial police had not received any formal request from Education for Nature Vietnam for an investigation into the case.
“Closer inspection is required to see whether the animals belong to a rare wildlife species,” Tung said.
