A 53-year-old pedestrian died after being hit by a Range Rover on the sidewalk of a street in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday afternoon. 

The car only stopped after crashing into a house.

The accident took place at around 2:00 pm on Tuesday, when a man in his 30s steered the Range Rover onto the sidewalk of Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Street and slammed into X., a 53-year-old local resident. 

The strong collision pushed X. into a roadside house and caused him serious injuries.

The car only halted after crashing into the house and breaking a wall.

The Range Rover driver, with help from passers-by, quickly took X. to Gia Dinh People’s Hospital in the same district for emergency treatment, but the victim were pronounced dead upon hospitalization.

Informed of the case, police officers came to examine the scene and investigate the cause of the crash.
