-- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh underlined during his working session with leaders of Khanh Hoa Province on Sunday that the south-central coastal province should turn its Truong Sa Island District into an economic, cultural, and social center at sea, and a firm wall protecting national sovereignty over seas and islands on the foundation of Vietnamese and international law, including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

-- War veterans who used to be stationed on Vietnam’s Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelago held a ceremony in the central city of Da Nang on Sunday to commemorate 64 soldiers of the Vietnamese navy who died on duty 34 years ago while defending Gac Ma (Johnson South) Reef in the archipelago on March 14, 1988.
-- Nearly 600 Vietnamese people fleeing from conflict-hit Ukraine to Poland and Romania safely returned home on two Vietnam Airlines flights on Sunday, bringing the total number of Vietnamese in Ukraine repatriated so far to over 1,100.
-- The Ministry of Health is urging local administrations to speed up third-dose coverage of COVD-19 vaccine for people aged 18 and above to make sure all of them will receive the jabs within the first quarter of 2022.
-- A fire broke out following an explosion at a large grocery store and burned it down in Bu Dang District, southern Binh Phuoc Province on Sunday. There were no casualties reported in the incident.
-- Police in Hai Phong City said on Sunday they are verifying the identity of a male victim who was found dead with his hands and feet tied together and his body fastened to a rock about 25 kilograms in the sea off Tien Lang District.
-- A crane fell from a truck and crushed a man to death on the spot while he was stopping his motorbike on the side of a road in Quy Hop District, Nghe An Province on Sunday.
