A video has recently gone viral as it captured a nanny allegedly abusing a 11-month-old girl while she was feeding her at home in Binh Dinh Province, located in south-central Vietnam.
The video was shared online by T.V.L., the father of the baby.
L., a 25-year-old resident of Quy Nhon City in Binh Dinh, hired 24-year-old H., hailing from the same city, to take care of his baby girl as a nanny for four months.
L. saw H. constantly slapping his 11-month-old daughter’s face while feeding her when he watched the footage recorded on March 9 from a security camera installed in his house.
“I was very shocked when I saw H. repeatedly slapping my child’s face and then using a spoon to scoop up the congee that she had vomited out and feed it to her again,” L. said.
When L. and his wife confronted H. about what they saw in the footage, the nanny denied abusing the baby, according to him.
“When I showed the clip as evidence, this nanny said that she was just patting my baby, not hitting her and neither admitted her fault nor apologized to us,” L. added.
The man said that H. had treated his daughter nicely and had never beaten her before the incident.
He also stated that he has paid H. in full.
After L. fired H. and shared the footage online, she repeatedly begged L. to remove the video, according to the man.
Local police said on Monday that they have worked with both sides to clarify the case.
