A man succumbed to serious injuries sustained in an accident when his motorbike hit a pothole along a street in Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City last week.

CCTV footage of the incident was shared on social media on Monday.

A probe by Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper revealed that the accident took place along Road No. 1 in Binh Hung Hoa B Ward, Binh Tan District at around 10:00 pm on Saturday.

Preliminary information showed that a man, around 50 years old, was riding his motorbike along the street when his vehicle crashed into a pothole, causing him to fall and suffer serious injuries.

Local residents then took the victim to the hospital, but he eventually succumbed to his wounds.

The man did not collide with any other vehicle before hitting the pothole, according to the footage.

Local authorities filled the pothole on the morning after the accident to ensure safety for other commuters, a resident said.
