Heavy rain lashed Quy Nhon City of Binh Dinh Province in south-central Vietnam from Saturday evening to Sunday noon, flooding many parts of the city.
In many areas, the rainwater was nearly two meters high, sweeping away many motorbikes and road users.
In particular, streets in Ghenh Rang Ward were submerged under water, causing multiple difficulties in travel.
Local residents said that the floodwater had risen since 10:00 am on Sunday, inundating houses and assets of locals.

Tran Dang Khoi, 48, residing in Ghenh Rang Ward, said the heavy rain flooded many streets, causing many vehicles to stall.
“The flash flood swept away two motorbikes and their riders. Fortunately, local residents detected and saved them promptly,” Khoi added.
Meanwhile, many residents in Ghenh Rang Ward said that this is the most severe flood over the past two years.

“We propose that the contractor of the wastewater drainage system in front of Hoang Gia Resort not build manhole covers so that water can run to the sea faster," said another resident named Nguyen Van Trong.
“If manhole covers are installed, floods will be more severe.”
According to Vo Chi Thien, chairman of the People’s Committee of Ghenh Rang Ward, the ward has directed relevant agencies to support residents in flooded areas in traveling and relocating assets to safe places.
The ward has also required erecting warning signs in flooded and dangerous areas to ensure safety for local residents.
