Veterinarians in Nha Trang City of Khanh Hoa Province, south-central Vietnam have euthanized a dog that attacked a foreign traveler on Sunday.
The dog was raised by the family of Do Xuan Tung, residing on Hai Ba Thang Muoi Street in Vinh Hiep Commune, Nha Trang City.
Nguyen Chi Dung, chairman of the People’s Committee of Vinh Hiep Commune, said that the dog is a Central Asian Shepherd, a breed also known as Alabai, with certificates on origin and vaccination.
The local authorities, veterinarians and the dog owner reached a consensus to give the dog an anesthetic, then put it to sleep in order to ensure safety for other people.
The dog bit a lot of people, including a UK visitor, causing him to suffer serious wounds on both of his arms.
