-- The Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security has proposed adding the biometric information, such as iris, ADN, and voice, into chip-based ID cards of citizens with previous convictions to serve the crime prevention and control.

-- Although the southeastern region is the largest economic zone in Vietnam, the investment in its infrastructure is not corresponding to its contributions, heard a seminar on Friday. The southeastern region, including Ho Chi Minh City and Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai, and Tay Ninh Provinces, contributing 30 percent of the country’s gross domestic product and 45 percent of the state budget revenue.
