Two were killed after lightning struck a house in Quang Ninh Province, northern Vietnam early on Tuesday morning.

The People’s Committee of Ha Long City, the capital of Quang Ninh, confirmed the tragic incident on the same day.

A lightning strike hit the house of D.V.D, 48, and V.D.P, 36, in Ha Lam Ward, Ha Long City at 3:15 am on the day, causing a fire.

Some locals discovered the fire and shouted at the owners of the house in vain, so they broke the door to enter it, finding D. and P. dead.

Meanwhile, three of their children sleeping on the second floor of the house were not injured.

The lightning destroyed a bedroom.

After being notified of the incident, officials of the Ha Long City People’s Committee approached the house to give condolences and offer financial support to the victims’ family members.
