Among the 21 planned bus routes in Ho Chi Minh City, 18 will provide connectivity for passengers to metro line No. 1 stations, according to the municipal Department of Transport.

Ho Chi Minh City had earlier announced 164 bus routes, including 122 operational routes and 42 routes which have yet to be launched.

The city planned to increase the number of bus routes to 185.

The 18 new bus routes connecting to the first metro line will link bus stops near the Vietnam National University-Ho Chi Minh City, Nong Lam (Agriculture-Forestry) University, Vincom Thu Duc, Vinhomes Grand Park, and the New Mien Dong Coach Station in Thu Duc City.

The remaining three bus routes include two connecting neighboring Binh Duong Province, namely 61-9 (Cu Chi Coach Station – Di An – New Mien Dong Coach Station) and 61-10 (Ben Cat Coach Station – New Mien Dong Coach Station), and one passing through Dong Nai Province—60-9 (New Mien Dong Coach Station – Giang Dien Tourist Site).

The relevant agencies will propose the estimated investment and choose operators to soon launch these bus routes.
