Saigon Water Corporation (SAWACO) is seeking the Ho Chi Minh City administration's approval to build two more water supply plants in the city, namely Kenh Dong 2 and Thu Duc 4, said a SAWACO leader.
The Kenh Dong 2 and Thu Duc 4 water plants are expected to provide 250,000 cubic meters and 300,000 cubic meters of water per day, respectively.
Regarding its existing water supply plants, SAWACO regularly carries out repairs and maintenance of the facilities to ensure the total water supply of 2.4 million cubic meters per day.
Of the amount, close to two million cubic meters of water serves the daily activities of local people, while the rest is kept as a backup for periods of high demand such as holidays, the dry season or to cope with incidents like plant failures.
The company also applied tech solutions to the management and operation of the water supply system as well as water quality control.
Many of its subsidiaries piloted the use of smart water meters in Go Vap, Binh Tan, Tan Phu, Binh Chanh, and Can Gio Districts to minimize errors in meter reading, the SAWACO leader said.
Aside from its plan to develop the said two plants, SAWACO has rolled out multiple measures and policies to enhance its customer service, including developing a mobile app to take care of its customers.
Besides, to expand its water supply and storage system, the company is conducting work on water pipelines spanning District 7, Binh Chanh, Binh Tan Districts and clean water storage tanks in Hoc Mon District and Thu Duc City, an administrative district of Ho Chi Minh City.
