Male nurse physically assaulted by patient’s family member at hospital in southern Vietnam

A male nurse was beaten by a patient’s family member while giving instructions on how to fill out a health form at the Binh Phuoc Province General Hospital in southern Vietnam on Sunday.
Police in Dong Xoai City under Binh Phuoc Province said on the same day that their officers were investigating the physical assault on a nurse at the hospital.
After the violent beating, the male nurse suffered several hand, arm, and head injuries.
The victim was identified as Truong Ngoc Nghia, a medical worker at the general surgery department of the hospital.
Investigation results showed that Nghia admitted N.M.D., a resident of Dong Xoai City, at 2:00 am on Sunday to treat an injury on the patient’s hand.
Nghia required the patient’s family member to jot down D.’s right age, as he had written the wrong age in the form before.
However, the man violently beat Nghia with his hands and legs.
The man also used a chair to hit the nurse.
After being notified of the incident, some police officers were sent to the hospital for a probe.
Nghia’s health condition is in a stable state, according to a representative from the hospital.
