Saigon Water Corporation (Sawaco), Ho Chi Minh City’s water supplier, has announced that several areas in the city will experience a water outage and low water pressure this weekend due to scheduled maintenance at the Tan Hoa pumping station and Tan Hiep Water Plant.

The maintenance is slated to take place between 9:00 pm on Saturday and 5:00 am on Sunday, the company said.

The work will result in a water outage in Tan Tuc Town, Vinh Loc A Commune, Vinh Loc B Commune, Pham Van Hai Commune, Binh Loi Commune, Le Minh Xuan Commune, Tan Kien Commune, Tan Nhut Commune, Binh Chanh Commune, An Phu Tay Commune, Tan Quy Tay Commune, Hung Long Commune, Phong Phu Commune, and Binh Hung Commune in Binh Chanh District, and Wards 6, 7, 13, 14, 15, and 16 of District 8.

Weak water supply is expected in the entirety of Hoc Mon District and Binh Tan District.

In District 12, areas anticipating weak water supply include Tan Thoi Nhat, Tan Hung Thuan, Dong Hung Thuan, Trung My Tay, Tan Chanh Hiep, Tan Thoi Hiep, Hiep Thanh, Thoi An, and Thanh Xuan Wards. 

Go Vap District will have Wards 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16 affected. 

Low water pressure is also expected in Tan Phu District, specifically in Tay Thanh, Son Ky, Tan Son Nhi, Tan Quy, Tan Thanh, Phu Tho Hoa, Phu Thanh, Hoa Thanh, Hiep Tan, and Tan Thoi Hoa Wards. 

Additionally, Tan Binh District will experience weak water supply in Wards 12, 13, 14, and 15.

Wards 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14 in District 6 will also encounter disruptions.

Sawaco noted that residents of the affected areas might expect low-pressure or cloudy water after the anticipated eight-hour disruption because of hydraulic disturbance during the repair process.

The supplier said it has instructed its affiliated units to manage the water supply network to minimize any inconvenience for residents.

The firm added that it will arrange tank trucks to ensure water supply for key areas such as state agencies, factories, hospitals, and schools during the outage.
