2 kids killed after wheel falls off truck in north-central Vietnam

Two children were killed in Ha Tinh Province, north-central Vietnam when the wheel of a truck became detached from its axel and crushed them on Sunday.
The fatal incident happened on a section of National Highway 1 in Cam Trung Commune, Cam Xuyen District at 4:00 pm the same day.
Nguyen Van Tien, chairman of the Cam Trung Commune People’s Committee, said that a truck driven by L.T.T., a 32-year-old resident of Nam Dinh Province, northern Vietnam, was traveling in the direction from the southern region to the northern region when its wheel fell off.
The victims were identified as L.V.N., 11, and L.V.S., 7.
The kids were playing on a nearby sidewalk when they were hit by the wheel.
S. died on the spot, while N. was rushed to the nearest hospital for emergency treatment but the kid was pronounced dead shortly after.
Police in the district are investigating the cause of the incident.
