A blaze erupted at a house down an alley in District 10, Ho Chi Minh City at daybreak on Saturday, leaving four dead.
Locals discovered the fire at the house on Cach Mang Thang 8 Street at 3:40 am, but tried in vain to put it out.
The flames engulfed the house and then spread to two neighboring dwellings, creating a column of smoke.
After being notified of the inferno, dozens of firefighters and rescuers quickly approached the scene for firefighting efforts.
Several fire trucks were also dispatched to the alley.
The blaze was completely extinguished within one hour of firefighting efforts.
Police are investigating the cause of the flames.
According to local reports, the burned-down residence was occupied by seven people.
Three individuals managed to escape the fire, while four others lost their lives to the fierce flames.
Residents in the two neighboring houses quickly opened their doors and ran out of the dwellings to save themselves from the fire.
