Many men have voiced their disapproval of girls wearing revealing outfits to universities in Vietnam, saying that such attire is not suitable for the academic environment.
Some girls think that they will become attractive with such clothes. However, it is not the reality.
Thang Nguyen, a 27-year-old office worker in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, said that he recently participated in a university transfer class held during evening hours.
This class boasted a diverse cohort, comprising individuals of various ages and professional backgrounds.
Some of his classmates were decked out in outfits for going out or working out.
During their graduation ceremony, a young woman even put on an outfit as if she was going to a bar.
She wore a bandeau top and sparkled accessories while the ceremony took place in the morning.
He added that it is peculiar to put on scanty clothes to any place.
Thang shared that one of his colleagues frequently wears skirts resembling tennis attire. Despite being gay himself, he expressed embarrassment on her behalf.
He added that girls should wear discreet clothes and be sexy in an appropriate manner.
Men do not want their girlfriends to wear scanty costumes, Thang claimed.
Thanh Quang, a 21-year-old student in District 12, Ho Chi Minh City, said it is ok when girls wear revealing outfits but they should be proper for the place.
“When I become more mature, I like girls to dress smartly. When girls wear skimpy clothes, males will firstly find it interesting but they will later feel bored,” Quang noted.
According to Chi Dung, another 21-year-old student in Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City, schools are public places and how girls dress will show who they are.
For women, fashion is not only to help beautify themselves but also their lovers, The Hien, a 19-year-old student in Thu Duc City, under Ho Chi Minh City, said, adding that girls should put on outfits that are suitable for them. They do not need to be too skimpy.
He does not support his girlfriend donning titillating clothes, especially during meetings involving other men.
Girls should wear jeans, T-shirts, and skirts to school, combine accessories and jewelry and avoid short dresses or ripped jeans, he added.
