Thailand’s Bangkok and Vietnam’s Da Lat have topped the lists of most searched international and domestic destinations, respectively, among Vietnamese travelers for the coming holidays, the Reunification Day (April 30) and International Workers’ Day (May 1), as unveiled by Booking.com.
The lists were made based on the results of searches carried out from March 17 to April 6, according to Travel Predictions 2024 of Booking.com, one of the world’s leading online travel platforms.
Accordingly, the Thai capital city was followed by Singapore, Seoul of South Korea, Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia, Tokyo of Japan, Taipei of Taiwan, Ubud of Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Phuket and Chiang Mai – both of Thailand.
With three Thai localities in the list, Thailand has claimed its position as the most popular foreign destination for Vietnamese tourists during the two coming holidays.
It is worth surprising that Hong Kong earned a position in the top 10 destinations chosen by Vietnamese tourists, since this territory has just reopened for tourism for more than a year after the COVID-19 pandemic was put at bay.
In addition to friendly visa policy, Hong Kong has improved its tourist services and maintained its attraction to Vietnamese customers through digital advertising campaigns as well as commercial cooperation, according to the Hong Kong Tourism Board.
Meanwhile, Da Lat, a city in Lam Dong Province, Vietnam’s Central Highland region, which is famous for its refreshing mountain air and poetic sceneries, led the list of most searched domestic destinations by Vietnamese travelers during the upcoming holidays.
As the scorching weather is raging in Vietnam, 75 percent of Vietnamese are seeking cooler destinations to escape the heat, and Da Lat has emerged as the best option for most travelers in Vietnam, according to Booking.com.
The travel platform also revealed that 82 percent of Vietnamese travelers said that they feel more relaxed when they are close to water, so they are therefore fond of taking water-based holidays.
This is reflected by the majority of coastal cities in the list of the top 10 most searched domestic destinations for the two holidays to come.
Ranking second after Da Lat is Da Nang, a tourist city in central Vietnam, which enchants travelers with spectacular beaches and vivid nightlife, followed by Nha Trang, the capital city of south-central Khanh Hoa Province, and Vung Tau City of southeastern Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province.
The following destinations in the 10 locations are Ho Chi Minh City, Hoi An (Quang Nam Province), Hue (Thua-Thien Hue Province), Hanoi, Phan Thiet (Binh Thuan Province), and Mui Ne (Binh Thuan Province).
