The Indian Robotics Association has announced its intention to establish a creative science center in the south-central Vietnamese province of Binh Dinh to enhance technological education for students and foster the development of robotics in Vietnam.
Payyaula Sai Venkat Kisshan, chairman of the association, made the announcement while attending a conference held by the Binh Dinh administration on Tuesday to promote cooperation in investment, trade, and tourism between local enterprises and their potential Indian partners.
The event attracted representatives of about 40 Indian businesses, along with the attendance of Vietnamese officials and Indian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Madan Mohan Sethi.
After hearing about the province’s economic development plans presented to delegates at the conference, chairman Kisshan said his association wanted to set up a creative science center in Binh Dinh for training students in science and technology as well as for promoting the development of robotics in Binh Dinh.
He added that he wished to help the province train a strong scientific and technological workforce to support robotics development.

Currently, Binh Dinh is executing a project to set up a center for technological research, production, and training, the first of its kind in Vietnam, said Pham Anh Tuan, chairman of the Binh Dinh administration.
The project is under construction in the provincial capital of Quy Nhon with an investment of about VND2 trillion (U$78.3 million) from Vietnamese tech giant FPT.
Upon its operation, the center will serve the needs of 20,000 people for working, research and development activities, and training, contributing to transforming Quy Nhon into an artificial intelligence (AI) hub in Vietnam, Tuan said.
“I know that India is also on the way to becoming an AI hub. Therefore, the cooperation in developing this field between the two sides is in accordance with the province’s needs and cooperation strategies,” the chairman said.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Do Thanh Trung said that India currently has four investment projects in Binh Dinh with a total registered investment capital of $3.24 million.
The potential for investment cooperation between the province and India is substantial, particularly in areas where India excels, such as clean energy, innovation, information technology, digital transformation, health, and high-tech agriculture, Trung said.
Many Indian enterprises are exploring the Vietnamese market to seek opportunities for investment and business cooperation, Consul General Sethi told the conference, adding that his consulate is ready to act as a bridge to connect Vietnamese businesses with their potential Indian partners, according to the Vietnam News Agency.
Chairman Tuan said Binh Dinh has established a working group to support Indian businesses in their early stage of investment in the province.
At the conference, Tuan and Consul General Sethi signed a memorandum of understanding on investment cooperation.
Many Indian and Vietnamese businesses also signed pacts on cooperation in tourism and forestry.
