Police in Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi have summoned a man for taking another person’s car, drifting it, and driving it erratically in the wrong direction, causing chaos on a street in the capital city on Tuesday.

A video of the case on Pham Hung Street near the My Dinh Coach Station surfaced on social media.

The man’s acts disturbed public order and frightened commuters.

Police later found the car on another street in the city and asked its driver to come to the police station for questioning.

The driver, N.V.T., a 29-year-old resident of Nam Dinh Province in northern Vietnam, said he drove the car to the gate of the My Dinh Coach Station at about 6:25 am on Tuesday.

He did not turn off the engine before getting out of the vehicle to buy drinks, so a man got in the car and caused chaos in the area for a while before leaving, the driver said, adding that the man named N.M.C. often stood at the gate of the My Dinh Coach Station.

Police officers later found C., a resident of Nam Tu Liem District.

He admitted that he was the man seen in the video.

The Nam Tu Liem District police are further investigating the case.
