To support people affected by typhoon Yagi, also known as storm No. 3 in Vietnam, Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper facilitates contributions from readers near and far to aid those in need.

Tuoi Tre will work with local authorities in affected areas to ensure that all contributions reach those who have suffered significant damage from the storm and subsequent floods.

Typhoon Yagi, the strongest to have struck the East Vietnam Sea in 30 years, made landfall in Vietnam on Saturday, with heavy rains continuing to devastate the northern region. 

As of noon on Tuesday, 157 people have been killed or reported missing due to the typhoon and ensuing flooding and landslides, with numerous injuries and nearly 150,000 hectares of rice and crops affected by the floods, according to the Vietnam News Agency.
