As many as 2,500 police officers showcased their strength, martial arts expertise, and survival skills at the Health for National Security Festival held in Da Lat City, located in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong, on Sunday.
The opening ceremony for the ninth Health for National Security Festival and the sixth People Security Forces’ regulations, military, and martial arts competition brought together officers from 20 cities and provinces in southern Vietnam.
A series of categories and activities are open to the officers, including shooting, soccer, martial arts, and running.
The event is aimed at assessing the results and quality of police officers’ efforts in improving their physical health, martial arts skills, and political and legal knowledge.
Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Le Hong Hiep, deputy head of the Department for Party and Political Work under the Ministry of Public Security, said that the festival is meant to educate officers and residents about the glorious tradition of 80 years of building and developing people’s public security forces.
The festival runs until Friday.
