The first-ever Green Vietnam Festival, organized by Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper in collaboration with the Packaging Recycling Organization Vietnam (PRO VN) and other partners, will begin on Saturday, offering an immersive eco-friendly experience aimed at raising awareness about the green economy.

The festival is held to support Vietnam’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, as pledged at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in the UK in 2021.

The event will gather leading Vietnamese and foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises from various industries to showcase eco-friendly, recycled, and reusable products, promoting sustainable consumption and living practices.

Nguyen Toan Khanh, the sustainability development director at an FDI firm in Ho Chi Minh City, is excited about the unique opportunity to engage first-hand with large-scale green development models and eco-friendly products.

He shared that after learning about the festival, his team immediately registered to participate, especially in dialogues, which offer valuable insights into green transformation.

Hosted at the Youth Culture House at 4 Pham Ngoc Thach Street in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, the festival will feature over 60 companies displaying hundreds of innovative products and sustainability initiatives.

Alta Plastics, a firm with an exhibition space at the event, plans to offer unique experiences that “contribute value to the environment.”

The company will unveil its Recycle Depot system, a smart recycling solution that uses technology to automatically identify, sort, and collect plastic bottles and aluminum cans, incentivizing recycling through a rewards program.

Alta Plastics will also present biodegradable products designed to decompose naturally after use, promoting sustainable lifestyles.

Meanwhile, TH Group will showcase its comprehensive green and circular economic model, which has been implemented across all its subsidiaries.

The company’s efforts in reducing plastic usage, enhancing packaging collection, and recycling initiatives will be showcased, telling its sustainability journey toward achieving net-zero emissions over the year.

AirX Carbon’s display space is inspired by the circular production process, offering visitors the opportunity to explore the journey transforming agricultural waste like coffee grounds and rice husks into bio-based plastics.

Products such as coffee-ground cups, pens, and pallets will demonstrate the potential of turning natural byproducts into sustainable materials.

Other pioneering companies in the green and recycled products sector will also boast unique spaces that showcase their products and help the public understand the value of eco-friendly materials in a low-emission economy.

Throughout the fest, attendees can join discussions with businesses and environmental experts on topics like 'Sorting Trash Properly - Trash as a Resource,' 'Businesses and Sustainable Development Solutions,' a panel on 'Implementing Multidimensional Carbon Neutrality Projects,' and the 'Green Recreation' competition awards ceremony.

The festival will feature the Tuoi Tre Start-Up Award 2024 roundtable, 'Building a Brand from Scratch,' and a gala event with notable entrepreneurs.

Visitors can also participate in mini games like waste sorting, painting, and workshops, with a chance to win prizes and meet stars from the hit reality music show Anh trai say hi (Say Hi to Bros), featuring 30 young male artists from Vietnam.
