A pod of dolphins made a rare appearance off the coast of Ganh Dau Commune in Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang Province, southern Vietnam on Wednesday morning, delighting tourists and locals.
The dolphins, estimated to number over 10, swam leisurely and played near Thay Boi (Fortune-teller) Island, a scenic spot known for its clear blue waters and vibrant coral reefs.
P.D., a local involved in tourism, shared that the pod was first spotted around 10:00 am by his friend visiting the area.
The playful dolphins came close to Vinpearl Phu Quoc, drawing visitors who eagerly captured photos and videos to commemorate the moment.
A 30-second clip of the dolphins, shared on a popular Phu Quoc Facebook community, quickly garnered attention, with many viewers expressing excitement and awe.
According to the Kien Giang marine conservation management authority, the waters near Ganh Dau boast a rich marine ecosystem, including coral reefs, seagrass beds, and an abundance of small fish, making it an attractive hunting ground for dolphins.
