A fire at a three-story house in a small alley on Bach Dang Street, Chuong Duong Ward, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi, claimed one life on Sunday morning.
Authorities dispatched five fire trucks, two command vehicles, a support truck, and dozens of firefighters to the scene.
They worked alongside local officials and residents to extinguish the flames, prevent the fire from spreading to nearby homes, and carry out search-and-rescue efforts.
Thick smoke and toxic fumes made firefighting operations more challenging.
Rescuers managed to pull an injured victim from the second floor, but the individual was later pronounced dead.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
This incident follows another fatal house fire in Hanoi's Phu Xuyen District the day before, which resulted in two deaths.
