FIFA has launched the official Futsal World Ranking for the first time in history, with the Vietnamese men’s and women’s futsal teams ranking 33rd and 13th, respectively.
Brazil, boasting five world championships in 1989, 1992, 1996, 2008 and 2012, lead the brand-new FIFA men’s futsal world rankings.
Portugal and Spain follow closely in the top three.
Iran hold a strong fourth position, with Argentina at fifth.
Thailand secure the ninth spot among the top 10 teams globally.
Vietnam sit at 33rd place.
Despite their efforts, coach Diego Giustozzi and his Vietnamese players failed in the AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2024, missing their third consecutive chance at the FIFA Futsal World Cup.

In the women’s rankings, Brazil also dominate, trailed by Spain and Portugal in the top three.
Thailand are in sixth place, while Iran and Japan secure eighth and ninth positions, respectively.
Vietnam hold the 13th spot globally and place fourth in Asia.
FIFA’s inaugural futsal rankings mark a significant advancement for the sport worldwide.
The global football and futsal governing body gathered data from 4,600 futsal matches among FIFA member teams to establish these charts.

This data serves as the foundation for seeding and group divisions in FIFA tournaments.
Previously, futsal team rankings were referenced from futsalworldranking.com before FIFA established its first-ever rankings.
The scoring and ranking methodology aligns with that of men’s and women’s football ranking but includes some adaptations which reflect the specifics of futsal.
