Many spectators enjoyed witnessing aggressive off-road racing cars roaring through the mud during the opening day of the Victory Challenge Sailun Cup 2024 tournament in Hue City, located in Thua Thien-Hue Province, central Vietnam, on Friday.

The competition, organized by the Thua Thien-Hue Department of Culture and Sports at Ho Thuy Tien Park, features numerous steep, muddy terrains submerged under the lake, ideal for showcasing racers’ driving skills.

The tournament comprises five divisions -- basic pickup class, upgraded class, extended-professional class, original SUV class, and camping car class. 

This event has attracted 88 racing car teams from sports car clubs nationwide to Hue City.

On the opening day, the racing cars, equipped with powerful engines, thundered through a series of muddy roads, carving through the park amidst the enthusiastic cheers of the audience.

Tran Van Tuan, a student at Hue College of Economics under Hue University and an enthusiast of pickup trucks, expressed his thrill at witnessing rugged, roaring racing cars tackling such challenging terrain.

“For people who love racing cars like me, this experience is truly captivating and satisfying,” Tuan remarked.

Additionally, as part of the event, a three-region car camping festival will be held.

Highlight activities include camping, team building, showcasing beautifully customized cars and camping vehicles, and a gala night.

To conclude the event, the organizers will distribute charitable gifts to those in need in the area.
