While breathtaking shots from throughout Quang Binh Province in north-central Vietnam were featured in the trailer for Alan Walker’s newest single, it was the stunning views from inside Son Doong, the world’s largest natural cave, that were the star of the show. 

Walker, a British-born Norwegian DJ and producer, dropped the trailer for his upcoming music video, 'Alone, Pt. II,' on Christmas Eve, immediately capturing the attention of his worldwide fan base, particularly those in Vietnam who spotted their home country as the setting for the video.

In the trailer, a character who appears inside the cave seems to be on some sort of mission related to “the biggest archaeological discovery in history,” according to the video’s narration.

'Alone, Pt. II,' scheduled for official release on December 27, is a collaboration between Alan Walker and American singer-songwriter Ava Max.

The upcoming single is the sequel to Walker’s 2016 hit 'Alone,' which has racked up more than 991 million views on YouTube in the past three years.

Walker, now 22 years old, first rose to fame after the release of his 2015 single 'Faded,' which received diamond certifications in Germany and Poland and multi-platinum certifications in over ten countries including the U.S. and the UK, according to Wikipedia.

In October 2017, British monthly magazine DJ Mag recognized Alan Walker as “the highest climber in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs 2017 poll” after his 38-spot jump from 55th in 2016 to 17th in 2017.

In 2018, Walker released his debut studio album entitled 'Different World.'

Son Doong Cave is located in the heart of the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Quang Binh.

The cave, which has a large, fast-flowing underground river inside, was discovered by local resident Ho Khanh in 1991. 

Khanh’s discovery made world news in April 2009 after a group of British scientists from the British Cave Research Association, led by Howard and Deb Limbert, conducted a geographical survey of Phong Nha-Ke Bang.

Son Doong Cave has since drawn international attention and become a staple on adventure bucket lists for travelers from around the world.

According to National Geographic, the cave claims the title of the largest cave passage cross-section in the world.

In 2015, it was chosen as the backdrop for the American fantasy film 'Pan' starring Hugh Jackman, Garrett Hedlund, Rooney Mara, Levi Miller, and Amanda Seyfried.
