The website vietnam.vn, whose input is sourced from over 100 large press agencies and the portals of 63 provinces and cities in Vietnam, was introduced on Thursday to provide information about the Southeast Asian country.
The website is being operated on a trial basis and will be upgraded further in the coming time.
Vietnam is now home to 250 press agencies and some 80 websites in foreign languages of ministries, agencies, and localities, according to the Ministry of Information and Communications.
That is not to mention many media channels on social networks of organizations, enterprises, and individuals that have been promoting the images of the country and Vietnamese people to the world.

The website vietnam.vn will provide updates on localities and stunning photos and videos about Vietnam.
Vietnam.vn is an open platform where locals and foreigners can express their viewpoints and insights on Vietnam, according to the Ministry of Information and Communications.
The website uses the automatic translation tool Google Translate to translate its content into English, French, German, Russian, Korean, and Japanese.

The Authority of Foreign Information Service under the Ministry of Information and Communications also launched a photo and video contest called 'Happy Vietnam 2023' under the theme 'For Everyone’s Happiness' on the occasion of the launch of the website.
The contest is open to all Vietnamese people and foreigners to encourage them to promote Vietnam’s images with prizes totaling VND400 million (US$17,138).
