The Vietnamese owner of the YouTube channel ND - Woodworking Art, has built an amazing wooden version of his son’s favorite Swedish STRV 103 tank from the video game ‘World of Tanks.'
Truong Van Dao made this life-sized and drivable tank as a replacement for his kid’s tank toy that he had broken by chance earlier.
The Vietnamese dad had filmed the whole process of building this awesome wooden tank and posted it on his YouTube channel.
He used a steel box frame attached to rubber wheels together forming the foundation on which the tank would rise.
Then, he added an electric motor to this basic structure in order to give the tank sustainable power.
The Swedish turretless STRV 103 main battle tank is possibly the only one of its kind since the Cold War. Its design makes it look lower than most tanks, and makes it difficult to see when on the move and harder to be hit.
Hence, these characteristics help simplify the build of the YouTuber’s wooden tank.
His team of craftsmen skillfully cut and crafted wooden panels following the shape of the STRV 103 and then placed them piece by piece on the tank shell.
Next, he attached wooden accessories such as gas tanks and shovels to the exterior of the tank, so as to add authenticity and character to the wooden version.
He also designed a hydraulic front that lowers on command to make it easy for his son to climb into the wooden tank.
This electric wooden tank is able to run on the road and open grasslands, as well as do real tank turns with ease.
The YouTuber previously created wooden Rolls-Royce and Lamborghini replicas for his son.
