Nguyen Trang Nhung from Vinh Long Province in the Mekong Delta of southern Vietnam has been crowned Miss Equality World 2024 in Thailand, making her Vietnam’s second international transgender beauty queen.

The first and second runner-up titles at the Miss Equality World 2024 contest were awarded to representatives from El Salvador and Indonesia, respectively.

The pageant featured 13 contestants from around the globe, who competed in swimsuit, national costume, evening gown, and interview segments.

The finale took place on Thursday evening in Thailand.

Nguyen Trang Nhung, a highly regarded contestant, maintained strong performances throughout the competition.

In addition to being crowned Miss Equality World 2024, she received two subsidiary awards: Best Talent and Best Photogenic.

Miss Equality World is one of the major international beauty contests for transgender individuals, alongside Miss International Queen.

Previously, Do Tay Ha represented Vietnam and earned the fourth runner-up title at Miss Equality World 2023.

With Nguyen Trang Nhung’s victory, Vietnam now has its second international transgender beauty queen, following Nguyen Huong Giang, who won Miss International Queen 2018.

Born in 1994 in Vinh Long, Trang Nhung was a top-nine finalist in Miss International Queen Vietnam 2020 and finished in the top six in 2023.

She is currently a model and trains child models at a children’s art center.
