As Christmas is just a few days away, the festive atmosphere can be felt on every corner of downtown Ho Chi Minh City.

However, due to the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic, many people are choosing to stick to preventive measures to celebrate a Christmas of safety, peace, and joy.

The city center has been brightened up as local residents seek a festive ambiance in cold breezes.

According to Tuoi Tre (Youth)newspaper’s observations, shopping centers and buildings have been decorated with sparkling Christmas ornaments to attract people who come to celebrate the festive spirit and take a picture.

As the COVID-19 pandemic has continued to spread around the world, dwellers still apply preventive measures such as face masks so that they can enjoy the festive time safely.

Shoppers entering shopping malls need to have their temperatures checked.

“The weather is great today so I decided to come here with my friend to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere,” Kim Duyen, a resident in District 7, said to Tuoi Tre.

"To ensure safety during the pandemic, I wear a face mask all the time, even when taking pictures. I hope that people don’t ignore safety rules when joining large crowds."
