The Nguyen Hue Flower Street, a staple for Tet in Ho Chi Minh City in recent years, was opened on Wednesday night and attracted thousands of visitors across the city.

The street, with decorations under the Year of Dragon theme stretching around 600 meters, was originally the Nguyen Hue pedestrian street in District 1.

One of the highlights at the venue is a pair of winding dragon sculptures spanning over 100 meters long with head circumferences exceeding two meters each, the largest size for a zodiac animal ever displayed at the annual event.

According to Nguyen Dong Hoa, deputy general director of Saigontourist Group, head of 2024 Nguyen Hue Flower Street’s organizing board, the dragon sculptures received public praise while they were under construction.

In addition, this year's Nguyen Hue Flower Street is adorned with flowery works displayed at booths from consulates of 11 countries including India, the U.S, the UK, the Netherlands, Indonesia, Italy, China, Laos, Malaysia, Japan, and Thailand.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, vice-chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Anh Duc said this year Nguyen Hue Flower Street, themed ‘Spring of Love, Tet Reunion,’ began the city's Tet festival series.

A highlight in the city's Tet cultural activities, the Nguyen Hue Flower Street is hoped to attract a large number of tourists in and outside Vietnam.
