Petro House Hotel has been welcoming both business and leisure guests alike to Vung Tau since the 60’s. The company has gone through various transformations and expansions. Initially operated as a bed-and-breakfast, Petro House was expanded after the reunification of Vietnam into a government guest house to accommodate officials from foreign countries, central and provincial governments. The hotel really caught on in the 80’s following the wave of multi-national corporation off-shore oil field concessionaires operating from Vung Tau.

The aptly named Petro House has since received many dignitaries, ministers, officials and executives of major oil corporations. Additionally, expats and local businessmen alike called it their “home away from home”, some on extended long term stay. Though amenities in the early days were modest, Petro House stood out as the best business boutique hotel in Vung Tau.

In 2008, foreign management team took over the day-to-day operation of the hotel, with a full renovation completed in 2012. Meticulous effort was put in to retain the charm of the original colonial architecture, with columns and arch windows.
