Vietnam revokes license of two Indian drug companies

Vietnam revokes license of two Indian drug companies

Monday, November 14, 2016, 11:19 GMT+7

Vietnamese health officials have voided the licenses of two Indian drug companies for producing substandard products.

A recent decision by Truong Quoc Cuong, director of the Drug Administration of Vietnam, said that the medicine production permits of both Medico Remedies Pvt Ltd and Mariott Lab Pvt Ltd had been withdrawn.

Their licenses were taken away because they were found to be making drugs that failed to meet standards and had not provided the proper paperwork. Both companies are of Indian origin.

Medico Remedies has also committed a further violation by manufacturing medicines that failed to conform to GMP-WHO practice, as required by Vietnamese law.

The Drug Administration of Vietnam has published a list of foreign companies making substandard drugs.

The names of all foreign firms producing medicines that fail to satisfy standards are available on the drug administration’s website, http://www.dav.gov.vn/?action=news&menuid=107&type=3.
