Dozens of entrepreneurs from Laos, Thailand, China, and Malaysia traveled to Ho Chi Minh City to attend the Vietnam International Advertising Equipment & Technology Exhibition, which opened at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in District 7 on Wednesday.
The exhibition is held to offer investment and trade opportunities within Vietnam’s advertising industry.
Featuring 300 booths that display advertising equipment and machines, the expo is aimed at satisfying local advertising professionals, international investors, and a slew of other visitors, said Nguyen Thanh Dao, chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Advertising Association.
The 13th exhibition, which wraps up on Friday, is expected to attract over 1,000 guests.
The exhibition also features opportunities to learn more about new advertising-related technology and machinery such as printing machines, automated bending machines, heat transfer machines, and the LED 3-D technology.
A workshop on outdoor advertising is held within the framework of the exhibition.
Tran Thanh Vuong, an official from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, said that advertising is one of eight spearhead cultural industries in the city and significantly contributes to its economic development.
Advertising activities in Ho Chi Minh City fetch some VND51 trillion (US$2.1 billion) each year, with outdoor advertising accounting for 25 percent of the total.
