Military-run telecom group Viettel introduced its human AI at the opening ceremony of the Mobile World Congress 2024 in Barcelona, Spain on Monday.
Its digital human, called Vi An, is a Vietnamese tech product.
Vi An chatted to visitors at the world’s largest mobile trade show in a ‘friendly’ and ‘natural’ manner.
Apart from the AI digital human, Viettel also debuted its 5G chip at the event.
The 5G DFE (digital front-end) chip, designed by Viettel engineers, is capable of computing up to 1,000 calculations per second, and meets all standards of the third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP).
3GPP is a collaborative project between a group of telecommunications associations with the initial goal of developing globally applicable specifications for third-generation mobile systems.
Besides, the Vietnamese telecom company introduced an automated network to global friends.
The system helps optimize operation, reduce energy consumption, and automatically resolve issues for 5G and 4G networks.
In addition to these three products, Viettel showcased 14 other technological products at the world's largest annual tech event.
“We are ready to enter strategic cooperation with global tech firms and boost technology transfer with partners to create the best products for customers,” said Nguyen Dinh Chien, deputy general director of Viettel Group.
The Mobile World Congress 2024, which kicked off in Barcelona on Monday and wraps up on Thursday, is featuring the participation of 2,400 tech companies.
The event is expected to attract nearly 85,000 visitors.
Titled ‘Future First,' the congress was set to include multiple discussion sessions about ‘5G and Beyond,' ‘Connecting Everything,' ‘Humanizing AI,' ‘Manufacturing DX,' ‘Game Changers,' and ‘Our Digital DNA.'
