The administration in Vinh Long Province, southern Vietnam on Saturday opened the first-ever Red Ceramic Brick–Green Economy Festival, which will last until November 23, featuring artistic performances, a fireworks display, and a drone light show.

The opening ceremony was held in the ceramic production craft village along Thay Cai Canal in Mang Thit District.

Through the captivating art performances, visitors will be brought down the history of the brick village’s founding and development.

The event also highlights the beauty of the 100-year-old traditional craft village and the Mekong Delta region’s desire for green growth.

Besides, the fest features a fair of 700-800 booths showcasing agricultural, commercial, and tourism products and services, along with various seminars and competitions, including a boat race.

The festival is also meant to set Vietnam’s record of 102 dishes and side dishes made out of tau hu ky (tofu skin).

During the opening ceremony, the provincial leader unveiled a master plan to establish a conservation area for the Mang Thit brick village, dubbed the 'kingdom of bricks,' and transform it into a distinctive cultural heritage site dedicated to red ceramic bricks by 2045.
