Twenty-eight international delegations have confirmed their attendance at the Ho Chi Minh City Economic Forum (HEF) 2024, scheduled for September 24 to 26.
The list of confirmed international delegates for the fifth HEF includes provincial ministers and experts from countries such as Laos, Japan, South Korea, Italy, Cambodia, India, Cuba, China, Russia, Germany, the U.S., and Australia.
Notable guests will be the mayor of Vientiane from Laos, the mayor of Torino from Italy, the vice-mayor of Chongqing from China, and the vice-mayor of Leipzig from Germany.
On the first day of the forum, the city will unveil an international friendship symbol at Bach Dang Wharf Park in District 1, with city leaders, ministry officials, and international delegates in attendance.
Following the unveiling, delegates will enjoy cultural activities, including a hot-air balloon festival on the Saigon River and tasting traditional egg coffee.
Also scheduled during the forum are plans for Ho Chi Minh City to inaugurate the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) at the Saigon High-Tech Park in Thu Duc City.
Attendees will include representatives from the C4IR in Malaysia, the World Economic Forum, the World Bank, and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.
Before that, the GRECO 2024 exhibition, focusing on green growth products and services, will run from September 21 to 25 on Nguyen Hue and Le Loi pedestrian areas in District 1, offering opportunities for businesses to connect and advance digital transformation and sustainable development.
This month, Ho Chi Minh City will host the second Friendship Dialogue 2024, an event expected to deliver substantial outcomes for the development of the city and Vietnam in the global context.
To date, 29 local and international delegations have confirmed their participation, including representatives from Laos, Japan, South Korea, Italy, Cambodia, India, Cuba, China, Russia, Germany, Portugal, Hungary, Uruguay, the U.S., Australia, and more.
