The Consulate General of France in Ho Chi Minh City on Saturday launched a website devoted to Vietnamese students who used to, or presently, study in the European country.

The “France Alumni Vietnam” website, which was introduced in Ho Chi Minh City, is part of a global network formed by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development in November 2014.

According to French Consul General Emmanuel Ly-Batallan, the site is considered a home which connects all Vietnamese students who used to, or currently, study in France.

It helps students keep in touch with one another, find important information on studying in France, discuss and share their experience by joining theme groups, which focus on a wide range of topics, including professional or academic opportunities, France’s cultural events, and news.

Students can also seek jobs by uploading their curriculum vitae to introduce themselves to prospective employers.

“France welcomes around 6,000 Vietnamese students per year. I hope there will be more students to register to join the network,” the consul general said, adding that the European country has recently issued a new visa policy which encourages former foreign students to come back to France after completing their studies.

The “France Alumni Vietnam” website was previously introduced in Hanoi, the central city of Hue, and the central city of Da Nang in May and June.
