The United States Mission in Vietnam has recently announced the Fulbright Vietnamese Student Scholarship Program for the 2023-24 academic year, granting approximately 20 fully-funded scholarships to participants.

The Fulbright Vietnamese Student Program is a competitive, merit-based scholarship program which recruits and nominates young Vietnamese professionals for master’s degree courses at U.S. universities, according to the U.S. Embassy and Consulate in Vietnam website.

Selected candidates will receive a full scholarship which covers tuition and fees, a monthly stipend, round-trip airfares, and health insurance while pursuing a master’s degree in the U.S.

According to the website, the scholarship program is open to Vietnamese students who gain at least one undergraduate degree, at least two years of work experience after graduation by the time of application, and a valid minimum score of TOEFL iBT 79 or IELTS 6.5 or PTE-Academic 58.

The program is designed to cover various fields of social sciences and humanities, including American literature, education project/program management, American studies, environmental studies, psychology, agricultural economics, management of IT/information systems, public administration, anthropology, journalism, and others.

To participate in the program, students have to submit the online application by 5:00 pm, April 15, 2022.

The dossier must include two essays, three letters of recommendation, transcripts and degrees, test score reports, and a curriculum vitae.

Established in 1946 and funded by the U.S. government, the Fulbright program aims at achieving mutual understanding through academic and cultural exchange.
