The DOL English teaching center chain and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Education signed an MoU valued at nearly US$80,000 on Saturday to enhance the foreign language skills of non-English majors, offer practical career training, and introduce English majors to modern corporate culture.
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Huynh Van Son, the university's president, and Le Dinh Luc, founder and CEO of DOL English.
This deal formalized their partnership in elevating the foreign language skills of students outside the Department of English, provide practical career training, and expose English majors to contemporary corporate culture.
Ultimately, this collaboration seeks to enhance the employability of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education graduates in increasingly competitive local and global job markets, given the proliferation of AI.
DOL English, which operates 18 centers in Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City, said that it would provide VND2 billion (US$79,808) to fund this partnership.

As per the MoU, DOL English will collaborate with three units of the university, namely the Department of English, the Youth Union - Student Association at both the university and departmental levels, and the Student Support and Entrepreneurship Development Center, from now until the end of May 2025.
The English teaching center chain will also provide scholarships, including both cash and in-kind support, to top-performing students entering and graduating from the Department of English and other departments, as well as to students facing financial difficulties or those actively participating in extracurricular activities and contributing to societal development.
DOL English will support and sponsor various academic and extracurricular activities managed by the university, assist in organizing foreign language proficiency enhancement programs, and create opportunities for university students to participate in internships, practical training, and post-graduation recruitment.
Both parties will jointly organize seminars and forums to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed in the era of Industry 4.0.
Luc, who has a master’s, expressed his admiration for the Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, noting that the university “has long been renowned for its quality education and its ability to produce many generations of skilled and dedicated teachers.
“Through seven years of running DOL English, we've always had great confidence in the abilities, expertise, and knowledge of the young lecturers who graduated from this institution.
“That’s why we are excited and proud to sign this MoU with the university.
“We hope that through this partnership, DOL English will continue to welcome the most outstanding students from the English Department and other faculties.
“We aim to support the university by offering scholarships to talented students, including valedictorians and salutatorians."
He added that through the MoU, DOL English will conduct training sessions on Linearthinking, an exclusive English learning method developed by the English center chain itself and recognized by the Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam, for students in the English Department and others interested in career opportunities at DOL.

Speaking at the event, Prof. Dr. Son, underscored the consistently high quality of his university's students, particularly those in the Department of English, which has been widely recognized.
He noted that students typically need to achieve an average score above nine out of ten to gain admission to the department, reflecting its reliability and academic excellence.
"However, high entrance scores and strong academic performance alone are not enough. Students still need practical experience,” Prof. Dr. Son said.
“That’s why we are grateful to DOL English for their ongoing support in providing recruitment opportunities and updating our students on current job market demands.
“DOL English and our university share common values, such as promoting lifelong learning and upholding humanistic values.
“I believe this partnership will grow sustainably and create significant value for society.
“I highly appreciate and thank DOL English for their collaboration with our university.”
